The  CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP  SKPs  BOF

Welcome Visitors ...

What is the CF SKPs BOF ?

First, to decode the acronyms:
    CF       is simply  Christian Fellowship;
    SKPs  is the plural of SKP.   These three letters -- when each of the characters is spoken -- sounds like "escapee";
BOF    stands for  Birds Of a Feather,  an expression for a group of people with  a special interest  or  of a like mind.

The "escapee" term comes from the name of the  Escapees RV Club  inside which this group is a BOF.
See the link to the lower right for more about the Escapees organization and just how the term "SKP" came about.

A key purpose of this group is  Christian Fellowship  around which our activities and communications are based.

Who Joins this special interest group?

First,  we are Christians who grasp the promises (like John 3:16) and make the life commitments (like Luke 9:23-25 & in the Sermon on the Mount)  to live a Christ focused and directed life as described through out the Bible.

We are individuals, couples and families  of various ages  and  at various stages in our lives.

Second,  we are current members of the Escapees RV Club.
Naturally,   we also tend to use RVs (as in: travel trailers, fifth-wheels, motor-homes)  for vacations,  seasonal travel  and even  full-time living.

How Do You Communicate?

Most of the communications within the BOF are electronic --  primarily e-mail.    However there is a printed paper version of the newsletter available to those members with limited internet access.

There is a Yahoo BOF-members-only discussion group  through which plans, updates and prayer-requests are exchanged.

At the various get-togethers,  members frequently exchange contact information with their new friends.

What Do You Do?

A key part of the Fellowship in the group  is meeting face-to-face at get-togethers or rallies.
These are generally RV campouts typically lasting from 5 days to 2 weeks -- many of which are at cost-free locations.  Most often campouts are "dry camping" without utilities -- other members experienced in 'boondocking'  will be glad to advise/assist you in this style of RVing.

At these get-togethers, we generally --
¤ have a daily Devotional session,  some of which may include a structured Bible study,
¤ have one or more Potluck Meals,
¤ participate in a Service Project in that location / area / community,
¤ and just     Be Together     encouraging one another ( Heb 10:23-25 ).

As mentioned above,  we also make a point of praying for one another, for our families, for our friends  and for the world around us.

When and Where Do You Meet?

Many of the get-togethers are spontaneous -- someone offers to host/coordinate an event.   Sometimes these are repeated in the same place at roughly the same time and become a regular event.  These all require volunteers to take up the reins to make the next instance of the event happen.

One of the  yearly  events is the Escapees RV Club Escapade presented by the SKP club.  The location and dates for this event varies from year to year.  See the SKP web-site for details about the next scheduled Escapade.  Our BOF endeavors to have a good representation at these major gatherings of RVers.

Currently repeating BOF get-togethers include:
Christmas Rally,   Why AZ,  Gunsight/Why-Wash BLM camping area,  about one week including Christmas day
Annual BOF Meeting,   Quartzsite AZ,   Plomosa Rd BLM camping area,  around the third week of January - just before the "big event" in Quartzsite
Early Spring Get-Together,  West Pinal county park near Casa Grande AZ,  late February or Early March
    Mid-Summer North-West Get-Together,  near Cor d'Lene ID,  early June
Late-Summer Kings Canyon rally at Sequoial Lake,  50 miles east of Fresno CA,  late September
Watch for announcements of these and other events in the newsletter  and  on the Events web-site page.

Up until recently,  most of the get-togethers have been in the western half of the USA;  however we now have Eastern Vice-President focusing on having more events in the Eastern regions.
     This year there is a  lets-see-if-this-works  Mid-Summer Mid-West Get-Together,  in Michigan,  June 1-4 2012.
The possible rally in Minnesota has moved beyond discussion - - it is now listed on the Events page.

What Does It Cost?

The Christian Fellowship BOF membership cost is  $5.00 per year.

The events and get-togethers have a nominal (usually $5 to $10 range) fee  that covers hosting costs (often including a "welcome dinner").
Because most events are on public no-fee land,  there is generally no camping fee (exceptions will be noted, usually with registration forms providing details).

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.   For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Luke 9:23-25
Then he (Jesus) said to them all:  "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.   For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever  loses his life for me will save it.   What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?"

Heb 10:23-25
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.   And let us consider how we may spur on another on toward love and good deeds.   Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another -- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Encouraging Fellowship among Christian RVers.   Exhibiting the Christ Centered Life in the communities through which they travel.

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard,  so that you  also may have fellowship with us.   And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3
